Neutrogena Introduces Cloud-Tech™: A Groundbreaking SPF Technology After Nearly Three Decades

In a significant advancement for sun protection, Neutrogena has officially unveiled Cloud-Tech™, a pioneering sunscreen technology powered by bemotrizinol (BEMT) — the first new FDA-approved sunscreen filter to hit the U.S. market in over a quarter of a century. This innovation was announced on September 17, 2026, from the brand’s headquarters in Summit, N.J.

The cutting-edge technology is featured in two novel products: the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Daily Face Sunscreen SPF 70 and the Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen SPF 60. Both are priced at $16.99 and were launched exclusively on Amazon on September 17, with a wider nationwide retail availability planned for October.

Cloud-Tech™, inspired by the adored lightweight textures of K-beauty sunscreens, offers a weightless, quick-drying silk finish that integrates seamlessly with skincare — not just sunscreen. For the first time, Neutrogena is merging sun protection with its patented Micro-Peptide Technology and niacinamide to address specific skin issues including visible signs of aging and acne-prone skin. BEMT is allowed at concentrations up to 6% in OTC formulations and provides superior broad-spectrum UVA/UVB coverage with minimal systemic absorption, making it safe for adults and children aged 6 months and above.

“Cloud-Tech™ was inspired by the K-beauty sunscreens consumers adore,” said Chris Riat, Global Neutrogena Brand Leader, heralding a new era in American sun protection.
