AI Safety Giant, Anthropic, Targets $2 Trillion Nasdaq IPO in October 2026

Anthropic, the pioneering AI safety firm behind the Claude series of models, has set its sights on Nasdaq for its eagerly awaited initial public offering (IPO). The company is targeting an October 2026 debut, as reported by Business Insider. This comes amidst predictions that the company’s IPO valuation could reach a staggering $2 trillion, potentially making it one of the largest stock market debuts in history.

The company confidentially filed an S-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on June 1, 2026. Anthropic’s financials reveal a trajectory of explosive growth: its second-quarter 2026 revenue soared to $11.5 billion, marking a 14-fold increase year-over-year. The company’s annualized revenue is projected to hit approximately $65 billion by late July. With a forecast of revenues between $190 billion and $200 billion by 2028, Anthropic currently boasts approximately 6,000 customers who spend at least $100,000 annually. The IPO’s lead underwriters include Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Morgan Stanley.

Choosing Nasdaq marks the exchange’s second consecutive high-profile victory over the New York Stock Exchange, following SpaceX’s $1.75 trillion listing earlier this year. Anthropic’s last private valuation was pegged at $965 billion from its May 2026 Series H-1 funding round. Amazon is the largest external investor with around a 21% stake, while Alphabet holds approximately 15%.

The IPO announcement comes at a complex time for the company. Anthropic’s CEO, Dario Amodei, has been advocating for a deliberate slowdown in AI development, a stance that seems counterintuitive for a company on the brink of a trillion-dollar market debut.
