GAMA Announces $14.3B in General Aviation Airplane Billings for H1 2026
The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) recently released its Second Quarter 2026 General Aviation Aircraft Shipment and Billing Report. The report shows a remarkable year-over-year growth in the sector for the first half of the year.
The report indicates that total airplane billings for Q2 2026 reached a staggering $14.3 billion. This represents a significant 15.5% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Additionally, helicopter billings saw a rise of 7.2% to $2.2 billion.
In terms of shipments, manufacturers delivered 1,458 airplanes from January through June, a slight increase from 1,433 during the same period in 2025. The growth was primarily driven by business jets, which saw an 8.2% increase (383 units), followed by turboprops with a 7.8% growth (289 units). However, piston airplanes were the only segment to register a decline, falling 3.1% to 786 units.
Cirrus Aircraft led the GA airplane shipments with 405 units through June, including 196 turbocharged SR22s. On the other hand, Airbus Helicopters dominated the rotorcraft segment. These figures reflect a broad confidence in the general aviation market as we move into the second half of 2026.
