Venice’s Iconic Hotel Danieli Transforms into a Four Seasons Hotel
One of Europe’s most iconic luxury properties, the historic Hotel Danieli, has embarked on a new journey. Since 1822, this grand hotel has hosted illustrious guests, and now it reopens as the Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel. This marks the fourth property for the brand in Italy. The transformation, carried out in collaboration with the owner, Gruppo Statuto, is one of the most eagerly anticipated hospitality events of 2026.
The hotel now boasts 120 rooms and suites spread across three interconnected historic palaces on Venice’s Riva degli Schiavoni waterfront. The total capacity is expected to increase to 168 keys by 2027, following the restoration of the Palazzo Danieli Excelsior. The interiors have been reimagined by the renowned French designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. Drawing inspiration from the Venetian Lagoon, Rochon used a palette of celadon greens, soft blues, terracotta, ochre, and powder pink to mirror the city’s marble façades and architecture. The complex is anchored by the Palazzo Dandolo, a masterpiece of Venetian Gothic architecture built in 1471 as the residence of the noble Dandolo family.
The dining experience is centered around the rooftop Terrazza Danieli. Here, Executive Chef Adriano Rausa offers a modern interpretation of Italian cuisine with a Venetian twist, all complemented by stunning lagoon views. The hotel’s full offering will be completed later in 2026 with the opening of a dedicated Danieli Spa featuring a sauna and hammam.
