Nvidia to Establish $1.5B Server Farm in Israel — The Largest Outside the U.S.
Tech giant Nvidia has announced plans to create the largest server farm in Israel’s history. The project, which represents an investment of approximately $1.5 billion (NIS 4.84 billion), was reported by Israeli financial news outlet Calcalist. The facility is set to be located in the Mevo Carmel industrial zone near Yokneam in northern Israel, with real estate firm Mega Or DC as a development partner.
The data center will cover an area of approximately 30,000 square meters and consume around 64 megawatts of electricity. This makes it one of the most energy-intensive facilities in Israel, consuming more than double the power of Nvidia’s existing Israel-1 supercomputer. The new site will host Nvidia’s next-generation Blackwell processors and a new supercomputer, surpassing the capabilities of the current Israel-1, which ranks among the world’s top supercomputers.
Upon completion, the Mevo Carmel campus will become Nvidia’s largest laboratory and supercomputing center outside the United States. It will also be one of the largest data centers in the entire Middle East. In conjunction with a planned 160,000-square-meter AI campus in Kiryat Tivon — designed to accommodate over 10,000 employees — Nvidia is solidifying Israel as its second-largest R&D hub globally. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has publicly referred to Israel as the company’s “second home,” highlighting the long-term strategic nature of the investment. Nvidia currently boasts a market capitalization of approximately $4.3 trillion.
