Delta and United Airlines Resume NY-Tel Aviv Flights from September 6
In a significant development for transatlantic travel, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines are resuming nonstop service between New York and Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport. This marks a substantial step in the revival of US-Israel air links following extended security-related suspensions.
Delta is set to operate daily nonstop flights between New York JFK and Tel Aviv starting from September 6, 2026. The airline will use an Airbus A330-900neo, one of the latest widebody aircraft in its long-haul fleet. The inaugural outbound flight departs JFK on September 6, with the first return flight leaving Tel Aviv on September 7.
Just a day later, on September 8, United Airlines will recommence service from Newark Liberty International Airport. The airline plans to operate two daily nonstop flights using Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
Both airlines have confirmed their returns after comprehensive security reviews and coordination with aviation authorities. Round-trip fares for Delta’s September service are currently around $2,680, dropping to approximately $1,550 by late October.
Meanwhile, KLM and the Lufthansa Group — which includes Swiss, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines — have been gradually restoring European routes to Tel Aviv. The Lufthansa Group is now offering 54 weekly flights to Israel, with plans to increase this to 67 per week in September.
However, American Airlines has delayed its return until the end of March 2027. Additionally, Atlanta-Tel Aviv Delta flights will remain suspended through December 18. The renewed US carrier presence is expected to significantly boost Israeli tourism and business travel in the coming months.
