Iconic Venice Hotel Danieli Reopens as a Four Seasons Property

One of Europe’s most storied luxury hotels, Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel, has made a magnificent comeback. It officially reopened its doors on August 26, 2026, following a multi-year restoration of its three historic palaces, including the 14th-century Palazzo Dandolo. Overlooking the Riva degli Schiavoni near Piazza San Marco in the heart of Venice, the landmark property is now the fourth Four Seasons property in Italy.

The redesign was spearheaded by renowned French interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, who skillfully incorporated Venetian craftsmanship throughout the hotel. From Rubelli silk damask fabrics to handcrafted Murano glass chandeliers, each element speaks of the city’s rich artistic heritage. The hotel initially opens with 120 rooms and suites, with plans to expand to 176 keys by 2027.

Highlights of the property include the iconic Terrazza Danieli rooftop bar and restaurant. Here, Executive Chef Adriano Rausa presents a contemporary take on Italian cuisine with a distinctly Venetian flair.

Over its 200-year history, the Danieli has welcomed luminaries such as Charles Dickens, Lord Byron, and Marcel Proust. Now, under Four Seasons management, the hotel aims to be a gateway to culturally immersive Venetian experiences. Guests can look forward to activities such as rowing on the lagoon or exploring local artisan workshops. A Danieli Spa is also expected to open later in 2026.
