Redbird Introduces Advanced G1000 NXi Simulator Upgrade for Aspiring Pilots
Flight simulation is set to take a giant leap in realism for student pilots across the U.S. Redbird Flight Simulations has unveiled a major upgrade to its aviation training devices (ATDs). The highlight of this upgrade is the all-new G1000 NXi software emulation, which is scheduled to launch on August 17, 2026.
The software, built from scratch, promises enhanced graphics, quicker processing, and innovative features. These include Synthetic Vision Technology, HSI mapping on the primary flight display, and Garmin SafeTaxi airport diagrams.
In addition to the software, Redbird has also announced the upcoming E001 Enhanced Aircraft panel. This modular, interchangeable hardware instrument panel is expected to be available in early 2027. The E001 will support multiple Garmin and Avidyne avionics configurations and will be backward compatible with existing Redbird devices. This ensures maximum fleet flexibility for flight schools.
“Flight training providers continue to express a desire for highly realistic training devices that emulate exactly what their customers will experience in their aircraft fleet,” said Redbird CEO Charlie Gregoire.
The company displayed prototypes at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026, which included an enhanced yoke for Cirrus SR20 and SR22 configurations. Existing Redbird ATD customers under warranty or with valid service agreements will be eligible to download the NXi software as a regular update.
