With the total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026 fast approaching, Spain is preparing for an unprecedented tourism event. This celestial spectacle, the first total solar eclipse visible from mainland Spain in over 120 years, is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of visitors to the country’s northern and inland regions, causing a dramatic surge in hotel prices and airfares.
