JetBlue Launches ‘BlueFirst’ — A Groundbreaking Domestic First Class Experience
JetBlue Airways is revolutionizing the U.S. domestic travel scene with the official introduction of its highly anticipated first class cabin product, BlueFirst™. Revealed on July 27, 2026, the New York-based carrier disclosed the name and rollout schedule for the new premium cabin. The launch across its non-Mint domestic fleet is set to commence in October 2026, with a comprehensive fleet-wide installation projected to be finalized by late 2027.
BlueFirst will nestle in between JetBlue’s standard economy (recently rebranded from “Core” to “Main”) and the luxury Mint cabin. The latter boasts lie-flat seats and handpicked dining on select transcontinental and international routes. In contrast, BlueFirst will provide a classic first class experience on regular domestic routes across major hubs, including New York JFK and Boston Logan.
Along with the new cabin, JetBlue is also revamping its booking experience. Passengers will now initially choose from four onboard experiences — Main, EvenMore, BlueFirst, or Mint. Subsequently, they can select from up to three fare tiers (Base, Standard, or Flex) based on their preferred flexibility and inclusions. JetBlue President Marty St. George stated that the objective is simplicity: “In two simple clicks, customers will be able to book what’s right for them.”
This strategic move firmly positions JetBlue in the increasingly competitive premium domestic travel segment. It comes as rivals such as American, United, and Delta persistently expand and enhance their front-cabin offerings.
