Microsoft Azure Achieves Record-Breaking 43% Growth in Q4 2026
Microsoft delivered a stellar earnings report on July 29, 2026, which led to a 7% surge in its shares during after-hours trading. The company’s Azure cloud platform showcased a remarkable 43% revenue increase in the fiscal fourth quarter, marking its fastest quarterly growth since early 2022 and comfortably surpassing Wall Street’s consensus estimate of 40%.
In a significant achievement, Azure’s revenue exceeded $100 billion for the first time over Microsoft’s full fiscal year ended June 30, 2026, marking a 41% year-over-year increase. The total Microsoft cloud revenue for the quarter reached $59.3 billion, a 27% increase from the previous year. CFO Amy Hood projects Azure’s growth to be 45% at constant currency for the next quarter, significantly above analyst expectations of 41.4%.
CEO Satya Nadella attributed the surge to the rapid adoption of AI services, stating that the company is “advancing the frontier on the cost-to-outcome curve.” The capital expenditures for the quarter were $41 billion, a 69% increase, reflecting the company’s aggressive AI infrastructure buildout. For the current quarter, Microsoft forecasts a revenue of $89.85 billion to $90.95 billion, representing a 16–17% year-over-year growth.
