Zenith Aircraft’s Surprise Reveal: The New CH 750 Super Cruzer
In a stunning turn of events at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026, Zenith Aircraft Company revealed its latest creation, the CH 750 Super Cruzer. This groundbreaking development was kept under wraps until the aircraft made its grand entrance on the runway at Wittman Regional Airport on the opening day of the show.
The Super Cruzer, a tricycle-gear, all-metal, high-wing kit aircraft, is designed with a unique 2+1 seating layout. This layout features two full-size side-by-side seats in the front and a rear jump seat, making it perfect for cross-country touring without compromising on STOL (short takeoff and landing) capability. The prototype is powered by a Lycoming O-360 180-hp engine, equipped with a three-blade Sensenich propeller, and boasts large bubble doors that open up to an expansive 50-inch-wide cabin that offers panoramic visibility.
Key performance figures of the Super Cruzer are as follows:
- Wingspan: 33 feet, 5 inches
- Empty weight: 1,100 lb
- Maximum gross weight: 1,900 lb
- Useful load: 800 lb
- Fuel capacity: 48 gallons
- Approved engine options: 140 to 230 horsepower
Additionally, amphibious float options will be available, which will increase the gross weight to 2,200 lb. Zenith estimates the kit assembly to take less than 400 hours and is currently accepting orders. Deliveries are expected to commence shortly after AirVenture.
The Missouri-based manufacturer, renowned for its designs by aeronautical engineer Chris Heintz, has combined the robust fuselage of the CH 750 Super Duty with the wing and tail of the faster CH 750 Cruzer to create this innovative hybrid design.
