The Glamping Phenomenon: AutoCamp’s Revenue Soars Amid America’s Shift from Hotels to Nature
America’s growing fascination with the great outdoors is reshaping the hospitality landscape in the summer of 2026. The luxury glamping brand, AutoCamp, is at the forefront of this change, boasting a significant 20% increase in room revenue compared to the previous year. This surge in demand has resulted in a remarkable 90% occupancy rate as we approach the Fourth of July weekend. Furthermore, the average daily room rates have seen a 15% year-over-year increase.
AutoCamp, known for its sleek Airstream suites, designer cabins, and immersive fire-pit experiences, operates at nine prime locations across the U.S. These range from the picturesque Joshua Tree, California, to the charming Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The brand is now leveraging its success by initiating a public capital raise through the DealMaker crowdfunding platform. This venture saw AutoCamp raise an impressive $1.2 million in less than 30 days from 353 investors, a significant portion of whom are former guests. A $10,000 investment currently includes shares and a $400 gift card for use on the booking platform.
The increase in demand for AutoCamp aligns with broader trends in the hospitality industry. For instance, Airbnb reported a 35% increase in searches for stays “near a national park” in 2026. Similarly, Hilton’s 2026 Trends Report revealed that 37% of global travelers consider time in nature as a top motivation for leisure travel. The U.S. glamping market is projected to exceed $3.8 billion by the end of 2026, growing at a rate several times faster than the traditional hotel sector.
Major hotel chains have taken note of this shift in consumer preference. Marriott, Hyatt, and Hilton have all ventured into the glamping segment between 2024 and 2026. Notably, Hilton has formed a direct partnership with AutoCamp through its Hilton Honors Adventures initiative.
