Introducing AmaRudi: A New Era in European River Cruising by AmaWaterways

River cruising is poised to enter a bold new era. AmaWaterways has just unveiled the first details and official renderings of its eagerly awaited new vessel, the AmaRudi. This is the company’s second double-width river cruise ship, set to make its grand debut on the iconic Danube River in spring 2027.

Following the groundbreaking success of its sister ship, the AmaMagna, which revolutionized European river cruising when it launched in 2019, the AmaRudi is designed to accommodate up to 196 guests across 98 staterooms and suites. The ship promises exceptional personal space, a variety of dining venues, and extensive wellness amenities. The AmaRudi is named in honor of AmaWaterways co-founder and Chairman Rudi Schreiner, marking the first vessel in the company’s history to bear a man’s name.

Dining will take center stage on the AmaRudi, with venues including the Journey’s Restaurant, the specialty Chef’s Table restaurant, al fresco dining options, and the intimate Rudi’s Wine Bar. The ship will also boast a new entertainment hub, complete with a cinema, karaoke, billiards, and a jukebox. Sustainability is a key focus, with the ship featuring advanced Stage V engines, solar panels, shore power connectivity, and lightweight construction materials.

“AmaRudi reflects our confidence in the future of river cruising and our continued commitment to innovation,” stated CEO Catherine Powell. The inaugural cruise is scheduled to set sail on April 11, 2027, from Vilshofen, Germany.
