Introducing Google’s Gemini-Powered Home Speaker: Launching June 25

Google is poised to revolutionize the smart home market with the introduction of its innovative Google Home Speaker. This is the company’s first AI-native smart speaker in nearly six years and the inaugural device designed entirely around the potent Gemini AI assistant. Pre-orders are now available, with shipping commencing on June 25, 2026. The speaker is priced at $99.99 USD.

The new speaker is equipped with a 58mm full-range driver, delivering 360-degree omnidirectional audio. This offers twice the driver size and 2.5 times stronger bass compared to the older Nest Mini. Setting it apart from previous Google Home hardware is the unique underglow light ring that subtly indicates when the device is listening, processing, or responding.

At the heart of the device is Gemini for Home, enabling natural, multi-step conversations without the need for rigid command phrases. Users can issue multiple instructions at once or correct themselves mid-sentence. Premium subscribers have access to Gemini Live and advanced smart home features such as camera history search. The speaker comes in four appealing colors: Porcelain, Hazel, Jade, and Berry. Google reports that over 3.5 million users participated in an early access program, leading to more than 2,500 bug fixes before the official launch.
