Akasa Air Soars High from India’s Newly Inaugurated Noida Airport

India’s aviation landscape just got a significant upgrade. Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline, officially commenced commercial operations from Noida International Airport (NIA) on June 16, 2026. This makes it one of the first carriers to fly from the country’s newest and most ambitious greenfield airport hub.

The airline’s inaugural flight departed from Navi Mumbai International Airport at 07:25 hrs and touched down at Noida International Airport at 09:35 hrs. The return leg from Noida departed at 10:15 hrs, marking the completion of the historic maiden route. Daily nonstop services to Bengaluru and Navi Mumbai are now live, with future routes to Hyderabad, Amritsar, and Lucknow in the pipeline.

Noida International Airport, also known as Jewar Airport, is one of India’s largest greenfield airport projects. It is strategically located in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. The airport is designed to ease congestion at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) and dramatically improve connectivity for the rapidly growing western UP corridor and the broader National Capital Region (NCR).

“The commencement of operations from Noida International Airport marks an important milestone in Akasa Air’s growth journey,” said Anand Srinivasan, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air.

The airline also plans to operate a state-of-the-art Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility within the airport complex. This move further cements its long-term commitment to the region.
