Uber Expands Its Reach: Now Offers Hotel Bookings Within the App

Ride-hailing titan Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER) has officially evolved into a comprehensive travel super-app. It now provides users in the United States with access to hotel bookings, powered by Expedia Group’s extensive inventory of over 700,000 properties worldwide, all within the Uber app.

This announcement was made at Uber’s annual GO-GET product event. The new hotel booking feature is a part of a broad platform strategy aimed at integrating daily life – rides, deliveries, and now full travel planning – into a single, seamless experience. “Uber is becoming an app for everything — helping people go, get, and now travel all in one place,” stated Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber.

The partnership is anticipated to significantly boost U.S. tourism. With government data predicting 85 million international arrivals to the United States in 2026, Uber’s integration aims to capture a substantial portion of the increasing travel demand by simplifying the booking experience. The collaboration also intends to make “secondary destinations” – such as national parks and smaller American communities – more accessible to spontaneous travelers.

Furthermore, hospitality tech firm Mews has announced a parallel integration, enabling hotels to request, track, and bill Uber rides directly from their property management systems.
