AI-Powered ChatGPT App Launched by IHG for Over 7,000 Hotels Globally
IHG Hotels & Resorts has launched a groundbreaking app, ChatGPT, revolutionizing how travelers search for accommodations across its vast portfolio of more than 7,000 hotels in over 100 countries. This move is in response to the growing trend of more than half of U.S. travelers now using AI to plan their trips.
The innovative ChatGPT integration allows users to search, compare, and explore IHG properties using natural language. The AI recommends hotels based on traveler preferences while surfacing real-time availability, pricing, interactive maps, and amenities. Once travelers select a property, they’re seamlessly directed to IHG’s direct booking channels to complete their reservation.
“Guest expectations are evolving quickly, and we’re evolving with them,” said Jolie Fleming, Chief Product and Technology Officer at IHG Hotels & Resorts.
The company also plans to add AI-powered conversational search directly to IHG.com and the IHG One Rewards app, allowing guests to search using their own words rather than traditional filters and keywords.
This innovation is part of IHG’s broader AI strategy focused on enhancing guest experience, boosting hotel performance, and advancing corporate innovation in an increasingly competitive digital travel marketplace.
