PATA and China Chamber of Tourism Forge Strategic Partnership at 2026 Annual Summit

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and the China Chamber of Tourism (CCT) unveiled a groundbreaking strategic partnership on May 14, 2026, at the PATA Annual Summit 2026 in Gyeongju, Korea. This partnership marks a significant stride towards bolstered tourism cooperation between China and the Asia Pacific region.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked by PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid and CCT Secretary-General Guoliang Wu on May 13, under the watchful eyes of PATA Chair Henry Oh and CCT Chairman Ji Xiaodong. The partnership sets up a framework for both bilateral and multilateral cooperation, with a keen focus on key areas such as:

  • Sustainable tourism development
  • Rural revitalization
  • Global marketing initiatives

“This partnership mirrors the growing bond we share with the China Chamber of Tourism and the destination’s tourism community,” stated Noor Ahmad Hamid. CCT Chairman Ji Xiaodong highlighted that China and the Asia-Pacific region enjoy close tourism exchanges and broad prospects. He further noted that this collaboration will deepen exchanges and foster high-quality sustainable development of tourism in both regions.

As per the agreement, PATA and CCT will join hands in:

  • Co-organizing events
  • Developing training programs
  • Joint marketing and promotional activities
  • Publishing industry reports for global audiences
