Major Brands Boost TikTok Shop’s Beauty Sales

TikTok Shop is revolutionizing the beauty retail industry, generating a staggering $4.9 billion in U.S. sales during the first quarter of 2026. This is nearly double the volume from the previous year. Premium beauty brands such as Olaplex, Ulta Beauty, and Ralph Lauren have launched storefronts on the platform, contributing to this surge.

Consumer spending on TikTok Shop increased by 46% in the first three months of 2026 compared to the same period last year, according to data from Consumer Edge. Despite representing only about 1% of overall retail sales in the six months ending March 22, the platform is expanding at a rapid pace. Marshal Cohen, chief retail adviser at Circana, predicts that TikTok Shop could quadruple its market share within a year and reach 10% by 2028.

The arrival of high-end beauty brands on TikTok Shop represents a significant shift in strategy. Companies that were once hesitant to sell on social commerce platforms now acknowledge the power of TikTok Shop to connect with younger consumers. Olaplex, a bond-building haircare brand known for its premium salon distribution, has joined early adopters like Crocs, Revolve Group, and L’Oréal in setting up official storefronts. Ulta Beauty made history as the first U.S. specialty beauty retailer to launch on TikTok Shop, advocating for partnership over competition with the platform.

This explosive growth underscores the increasing importance of social commerce as a primary discovery and purchasing channel for beauty products. This is particularly true among Gen Z and millennial consumers who frequently shop directly through their favorite social media apps.
