A New Era of Wellness: LA Embraces Soft Self-Care
Los Angeles is heralding a new era of wellness treatments. These treatments prioritize nervous system regulation over punishing workouts and extreme protocols, according to a recent report from LA Magazine.
The emerging “soft wellness” movement is characterized by innovative treatments. One such treatment is the Aqua Gold facial offered at Routine Spa in Studio City. Celebrity facialist Anush Movsesian uses 24-karat gold-plated needles to deliver customized serums, micro-doses of filler, Botox, and vitamins into the skin. The result? A glowing, rejuvenated appearance.
Another trending treatment is dry float therapy at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego. This therapy mimics weightlessness without the need for immersion in water. Guests float in a zero-gravity state on a softly heated membrane while water rises beneath them. This achieves deep relaxation and therapeutic benefits without ruining their blowout.
“Punishing predawn workouts, starvation by juice cleanse and other brutal approaches to self-care are so 2025,” the report states. “This year’s wellness focuses on emphasizing nervous system regulation and finding ways to cut down on time-consuming rituals with state-of-the-art treatments that provide a glow from within.”
The soft wellness movement also includes tinted brow services from studios like Two of a Kind in Santa Monica. These studios use hybrid dyes to create natural, effortless looks that epitomize the “skinimalism” trend.
