Alaska Airlines Unveils Daily Nonstop Seattle-Rome Service Starting April 2026

Alaska Airlines has started selling tickets for its eagerly awaited nonstop service between Seattle and Rome, marking a significant step in the airline’s global expansion. The daily, seasonal summer service is set to commence on April 28, 2026, operating between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Leonardo da Vinci Fiumicino International Airport using the airline’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

The introduction of this new route is a response to strong customer demand, with Rome consistently ranking as the most-requested European destination by Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan members. The airline has increased flight frequency from the initially planned four times weekly to daily service due to an overwhelming guest response. “Serving Rome nonstop from Seattle is a dream come true. Our guests have been asking for an easy way to get to Italy for years, and we’re thrilled to provide it to people in the Northwest and beyond,” said Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci, who is of Italian American heritage.

The Seattle-Rome route is Alaska’s first transatlantic service and follows the airline’s recent launches to Tokyo Narita and Seoul Incheon. Passengers can look forward to a reimagined global travel experience featuring lie-flat seats, enclosed suites, and multi-course dining in Business Class. Introductory roundtrip fares start at $599.

By 2030, the airline plans to serve at least 12 intercontinental destinations from Seattle. Additional European routes to London Heathrow and Reykjavik, Iceland, are also set to launch in 2026.
