Global Launch of Apple’s Affordable iPhone 17e at $599
The budget-friendly iPhone 17e from Apple officially hit the market on March 11, 2026. This mid-tier smartphone, boasting premium features, is now available in over 70 countries, including the United States, UAE, and India, with a starting price of just $599. Pre-orders for the device commenced on March 4.
Equipped with Apple’s latest A19 chip featuring 3-nanometer technology, the iPhone 17e delivers performance that’s up to 2x faster than the iPhone 11. The device now supports MagSafe wireless charging and offers double the base storage—256GB—at the same price, addressing two major criticisms of the iPhone 16e.
The iPhone 17e boasts a 48MP camera system, an improved Ceramic Shield 2 display with 3x better scratch resistance, and Apple’s new C1X cellular modem. This modem delivers up to 2x faster speeds while using 30% less energy. The device is available in three colors: black, white, and a new soft pink option.
“iPhone 17e combines powerful performance and features our users love at an exceptional value,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing.
The launch comes at a critical time as Apple grapples with memory shortages affecting the broader smartphone industry. IDC estimates a 6.8% decline in the global smartphone market for Q1 2026.
