March 2026 Pixel Feature Drop: Google Unveils Gemini AI Automation
Google has unveiled its March 2026 Pixel Feature Drop, introducing significant AI-powered enhancements to Pixel phones, tablets, and watches. This release, built on the Android 16 QPR3 platform, is one of the most comprehensive updates in recent times.
Gemini Automation: The Standout Feature
The highlight of this update is the Gemini automation, now available on Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL devices. This feature allows users to delegate repetitive tasks such as ordering groceries or booking rides to Gemini AI. The AI operates apps in a secure window, performing tasks by tapping, scrolling, and typing on behalf of the user. However, users retain control throughout the process and must confirm final purchases.
Circle to Search: Major Upgrades
The Circle to Search feature has received significant upgrades. It can now identify multiple objects simultaneously in images and offers a “Try It On” feature for clothing items found in videos, images, or social content. Alongside, custom AI-generated home screen icons have been introduced with six style options including Scribbles, Cookies, Easel, Treasure, and Stardust. These are available on Pixel 6 and newer devices.
At a Glance Widget and Other Updates
The At a Glance widget now offers real-time sports scores, stock market updates from Google Finance watchlists, and commute alerts showing transit delays and alternative routes. The Pixel Watch now boasts enhanced security features. Additionally, Scam Detection has been expanded to France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Germany, and Japan. Google has confirmed that the update will be rolled out over several weeks to compatible devices.
