Nykaa in Advanced Talks to Acquire Deepika Padukone’s Beauty Brand, 82°E

India’s leading beauty retailer, Nykaa, is reportedly in advanced negotiations to acquire a majority stake in 82°E, the premium skincare brand founded by Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone. This information comes to light according to recent stock exchange filings.

FSN E-Commerce Ventures, the parent company of Nykaa, has confirmed these discussions. However, they have chosen to remain silent on the financial details or a timeline for completion. The potential acquisition would not only strengthen Nykaa’s ‘House of Nykaa’ portfolio, but also provide 82°E access to Nykaa’s massive customer base of 42 million users and its robust distribution network.

82°E, founded in 2022, is a brand that focuses on clean skincare powered by Indian actives. Despite its unique selling proposition, the brand has struggled to achieve scale independently. If the deal goes through, Padukone is expected to retain a minority stake. It’s worth noting that the actress was named Nykaa’s global brand ambassador in September 2025, highlighting an existing working relationship.

The acquisition talks are happening at a time when India’s beauty and personal care market is projected to reach $34 billion by 2028, a significant rise from its current $20 billion. Nykaa has been aggressively expanding its brand portfolio. Previous acquisitions include:

  • Dot & Key
  • Earth Rhythm
  • A successful joint venture with actress Katrina Kaif’s Kay Beauty brand
