Nvidia’s Groundbreaking N1 ARM Laptop Chip Unveiled with a Whopping 128GB Memory
Nvidia’s highly anticipated debut in the laptop processor market has finally been unveiled. Leaked engineering motherboard images from Chinese marketplace Goofish reveal the company’s N1 system-on-chip. The chip boasts an unprecedented 128GB of LPDDR5X memory running at 8,533 MT/s, indicating a significant push towards AI-powered laptops.
The N1 chip, a collaborative effort with MediaTek, is reported to feature a 20-core ARM-based CPU paired with a Blackwell-architecture GPU. The GPU packs up to 6,144 CUDA cores, placing it in the same league as the RTX 5070. This marks Nvidia’s first consumer CPU product since the Tegra X1 powered the Shield TV in 2015.
The leaked motherboard showcases a compact design aimed at thin-and-light laptops and 2-in-1 devices. It comes equipped with USB Type-C, USB Type-A, HDMI ports, onboard Wi-Fi, and two M.2 slots for storage. Industry insiders hint at a potential reveal at Computex 2026 in June. Dell and Lenovo are reportedly among the first OEM partners testing laptops featuring the N1 platform. The chip is set to compete directly with Apple’s M-series silicon and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite in the burgeoning ARM-based Windows PC ecosystem.
Systems utilizing the N1 platform are anticipated to launch in the second half of 2026. This could potentially revolutionize Windows on ARM computing by offering significantly more powerful integrated graphics than current ARM laptop offerings.
