Airbus Hits Milestone with 500th A220 Aircraft Delivery

Airbus proudly announced on April 10, 2026, the delivery of its 500th A220 aircraft. This significant milestone marks a new era for the single-aisle jet program. The European manufacturer reported an accelerated production with 60 commercial aircraft delivered in March 2026 alone.

The final recipient of the 500th delivery is believed to be airBaltic, which received its fourth A220-300 of 2026, registered YL-BTF, at the end of March. The A220, originally developed by Bombardier as the C Series, joined Airbus’s portfolio in 2018. It is now assembled at production facilities in Mirabel, Canada, and Mobile, Alabama.

According to Airbus, the A220 fleet has carried over 220 million passengers across nearly 2,000 routes worldwide. The aircraft offers superior fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions compared to previous-generation aircraft.
