AIDAprima Unveils New Winter Cruise Routes in a Major European Strategy Shift

AIDA Cruises has unveiled a major strategic shift for its AIDAprima cruise ship, announcing new fall and winter itineraries for the 2026-27 season across European destinations including Kiel, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife.

The announcement represents a significant change in deployment strategy, as AIDAprima was previously scheduled to remain in the Middle East during the winter season. However, due to the dynamic political situation in the region, AIDA Cruises decided to redirect the ship to European ports.

Starting in the 2026-27 season, Kiel will serve as AIDAprima’s central winter homeport, with the cruise line offering four- to eleven-day cruises that can be combined into longer trips. This strategic move within the rapidly growing cruise tourism sector underscores Kiel’s increasing significance as one of Europe’s leading maritime hubs.

The new itineraries reflect changing tourist preferences, with travelers increasingly seeking interesting European trips during the autumn and winter seasons. AIDA Cruises is capturing a broader audience by offering both short- and long-term itinerary options.
