FAA Approves Comlux’s Airbus ACJ TwoTwenty Cabin: A Significant Milestone

Comlux America, a specialist in executive aircraft, has achieved a significant regulatory milestone. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the cabin of the Airbus ACJ TwoTwenty business jet. The announcement was made on April 7, 2026.

The certification was achieved in collaboration with DOA21, a subsidiary of the Comlux Group and a certified Design Organization Approval holder. This enables Comlux to certify cabin design modifications for the ACJ TwoTwenty in full compliance with FAA safety and airworthiness standards. With this latest development, Comlux America now holds dual certification from both the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the FAA.

This positions Comlux to offer fully certified ACJ TwoTwenty cabin solutions to customers across North America. It also allows aircraft fitted with the cabin to be registered under the FAA’s N-Number registry. The ACJ TwoTwenty is based on the Airbus A220-100 airframe, representing a new category of large business jets.

Adam White, CEO of Comlux America, stated that while no ACJ TwoTwenty is currently on the N register, this certification marks the biggest step forward in ensuring a timely and straightforward process when that occurs. The certification builds on Comlux America’s prior experience within the U.S. regulatory framework, including its work on the first Boeing BBJ MAX 8 cabin certified under FAA oversight.
