Major Expansion of American Express Centurion Lounges at Three Key US Airports
American Express has recently announced an impressive expansion of its premium Centurion Lounge network. This significant development, revealed on April 1, 2026, includes plans to introduce new lounges and enlarge existing spaces at three major U.S. airports. The move underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the airport experience for its cardholders, particularly as travel demand escalates in anticipation of the summer season.
The expansion features a brand new two-story Centurion Lounge at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). Slated to open its doors in 2029, this lounge will be one of the largest within the Amex network. It will offer plush seating, dedicated workstations, and premium New England-inspired food and beverages. A highlight of the lounge will be its stunning outdoor terrace.
In addition, Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) will welcome a second Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge location in 2027. This addition is specifically designed to cater to travelers with limited time before their flights.
The Centurion Lounge at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is also set to undergo a significant renovation. This will expand the lounge space by 50%, introducing new seating areas, a second full-service bar, an upgraded dining area, and even a walk-up ice cream window. The expansion is expected to be completed by 2027.
“American Express has long been at the forefront of the airport lounge experience, and we continue to build on that legacy and raise the bar as we grow our network,” said Audrey Hendley, president of American Express Travel.
