GITEX Africa 2026: A Tech Powerhouse Event Anticipating $5B in Deals

The continent’s premier technology and innovation event, GITEX Africa, has officially commenced today in the vibrant city of Marrakech, Morocco. Spanning from April 7-9, 2026, the event boasts over 1,500 exhibitors and more than 25,000 delegates hailing from 130+ countries worldwide.

The fourth edition of GITEX Africa places a significant emphasis on AI, fintech, digital infrastructure, and green technology, underlining Africa’s emerging status as a global tech leader.

With AI projected to inject a staggering $1.2 trillion into Africa’s economy by 2030, GITEX Africa 2026 serves as a strategic platform for fostering pan-African collaboration and forging international partnerships. Today’s key sessions are centered around:

  • AI-driven financial inclusion
  • Cross-border payments

New sector showcases include:

  • Data Centre Intelligent Infrastructure
  • Fintech and the Future of Finance
  • Future Mobility Park
  • Sports Tech

Several African governments, including those of South Africa, Kenya, and Egypt, are leveraging this platform to highlight investment opportunities and sign memorandums of understanding. The event organizers anticipate over $5 billion in deals to be announced during this three-day tech extravaganza.

The 2026 edition welcomes an expanded international participation, with new entrants including Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Guinea, Hungary, Luxembourg, Thailand, and Zambia. Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition is supporting 300 local startups through the “Morocco 300” initiative, reflecting the country’s ambition to position itself as a strategic technology hub serving the African continent.
