Manila’s Skin2Confidence Masterclass: Championing Science-Based Skincare
A groundbreaking skincare masterclass, organized by Pretty Skin & Lamelin Philippines, united medical experts, beauty professionals, and consumers to discuss science-based skincare approaches. This event, held during Women’s Month, emphasized the importance of education over viral trends.
The ‘Skin2Confidence Masterclass,’ held at Manila House on March 28, focused on promoting informed and disciplined skincare practices. Dr. Mara Capiroso, the medical director, explained that conditions such as melasma, pigmentation, and premature aging are influenced by factors like UV exposure, hormones, inflammation, and skin barrier damage. She outlined a structured approach emphasizing the sequence of repair, strengthen, and protect.
Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Finesse Evangelista discussed the role of active ingredients in skincare. She highlighted NMN, PDRN, niacinamide, panthenol, retinol, and bakuchiol, noting that ‘synergy and consistency determine outcomes’ when using these components.
- The event also featured:
- Live product demonstrations
- Interactive discussions
- A raffle for a ‘K-Beauty Innovation Experience’ in Seoul
Organizers announced that the masterclass is part of a broader initiative to expand skincare education. Future workshops, digital campaigns, and partnerships are planned, including the launch of a Skin2Confidence Training Institute. This institute aims to promote science-based skincare knowledge among Filipino consumers.
