Hilton and YOTEL Join Forces for Major Lifestyle Hotel Expansion
Hilton has recently announced an exclusive franchise agreement with the innovative, tech-forward hotel brand, YOTEL. This groundbreaking partnership makes YOTEL the inaugural member of the newly launched Select by Hilton portfolio, marking a significant strategic shift in how major hotel groups are expanding their global footprint.
As per the agreement announced on March 19, 2026, YOTEL will continue to independently manage its 23 properties across 10 countries. In addition, it will gain access to Hilton’s robust distribution network and the Hilton Honors loyalty program, which boasts nearly 250 million members. With the support of Hilton, YOTEL plans to more than triple its portfolio in the coming years.
“The addition of YOTEL to Hilton’s network is the latest example of our commitment to capital efficient growth,” said Christian Charnaux, Hilton’s Chief Development Officer. This partnership allows YOTEL to retain its unique identity—known for compact, tech-enabled “cabin-style” rooms in urban centers and airports—while benefiting from Hilton’s commercial engine.
For travelers, this partnership signifies that Hilton Honors members will soon be able to earn and redeem points at participating YOTEL properties. The first hotels are expected to be available for booking through Hilton channels later in 2026. This move follows Marriott’s recent acquisition of citizenM, highlighting the increasing competition among major hotel groups to capture the growing lifestyle and independent hotel market.
