Disney Adventure: A New Chapter for Disney Cruise Line in Asia
Disney Cruise Line marked a significant milestone in its expansion into Southeast Asia with the christening of its newest and largest ship, the Disney Adventure, on March 4, 2026, in Singapore. The elegant christening ceremony unfolded in the Walt Disney Theatre aboard the vessel, featuring performances by regional vocalists and musicians, a 23-piece orchestra, and special appearances from Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse.
Academy Award-winning actor Robert Downey Jr. had the honor of serving as the ship’s godparent, providing the traditional blessing: “I christen thee, Disney Adventure, may God bless this ship and all who sail upon her.” The Disney Adventure is the eighth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet and marks the company’s first vessel to homeport year-round in Asia, symbolizing a major strategic expansion for the brand.
The Disney Adventure is a 208,108 gross tonne vessel that boasts seven themed areas inspired by Disney, Pixar, and Marvel stories. Highlights include:
- San Fransokyo Street from Big Hero 6
- A Broadway-style musical, “Remember”
- Signature fireworks at sea
- Disney Cruise Line’s first-ever roller coaster at sea, the Ironcycle Test Run
The ship embarked on its maiden voyage on March 10, 2026, offering an inaugural season of three- and four-night itineraries from Singapore’s Marina Bay Cruise Centre.
