Dassault Aviation Unveils the Falcon 10X: A New Era in Business Jets
French aerospace manufacturer Dassault Aviation took the wraps off its flagship Falcon 10X business jet on March 10, 2026. The grand unveiling took place at a dramatic ceremony held at its Bordeaux-Mérignac facility in France. The Falcon 10X, with the largest cabin ever designed in a purpose-built business jet, is set to pose a direct challenge to competitors Gulfstream and Bombardier in the ultra-long-range market.
The Falcon 10X is not just a business jet, it’s a statement of power and luxury. It boasts impressive specifications such as:
- A maximum range of 7,500 nautical miles, enabling nonstop flights from New York to Shanghai or Los Angeles to Sydney.
- Powered by twin Rolls-Royce Pearl 10X engines rated at 18,000 pounds of thrust each, the aircraft can cruise at speeds approaching the sound barrier with a top speed of Mach 0.925.
Moreover, the jet introduces several aviation firsts, including business aviation’s first all-composite wing and the advanced NeXus flight deck. At cruising altitude of 41,000 feet, cabin pressure will be maintained at an exceptionally low 3,000 feet equivalent. Dassault CEO Eric Trappier stated the objective is to allow passengers to “experience time on board the aircraft as just another part of their everyday life.” With a price tag upwards of $80 million, the aircraft is expected to enter service in 2027 after flight testing begins later this year.
