Qatar Prolongs Aid for Stranded Travelers Until March 13, 2026

Qatar Tourism has officially extended its support program for international travelers unable to leave the country due to regional airspace closures. The state-funded accommodation has now been extended until March 13, 2026.

The initiative, first introduced in late February 2026, has entered its second phase to address the ongoing challenges caused by the Middle East conflict. As of March 9, 2026, the Qatari government is fully absorbing hotel room costs for both leisure tourists and business event attendees who were checked into licensed hotel establishments on or before February 28, 2026.

The scope of assistance is notably comprehensive. Coordination is managed directly between hotel management teams and Qatar Tourism. Guests can remain in their current rooms without the need for repetitive re-bookings. The program covers travelers who were originally scheduled to depart between February 28 and March 3 but found their flights cancelled.

While commercial aviation remains largely suspended, Qatar Airways has initiated a limited number of “exceptional flights” between March 9 and March 11 to major destinations. These include:

  • London
  • Seoul
  • Moscow
  • Nairobi

The swift and organized response is expected to boost long-term trust in Qatar as a dependable travel hub, even during periods of geopolitical uncertainty.
