Six Senses Debuts in the UK with a Historic London Building Transformation

Six Senses has proudly unveiled its inaugural property in the United Kingdom, signifying a momentous landmark for the esteemed wellness brand. On March 1, 2026, Six Senses London commenced operations, metamorphosing the iconic Whiteley’s department store in Bayswater into a serene urban wellness haven.

The hotel, nestled within The Whiteley, a Grade II-listed Edwardian landmark, boasts 109 rooms and suites. This historic structure has been revitalized through a £1.5 billion redevelopment. AvroKO, in partnership with EPR Architects and Foster + Partners, has masterfully designed the property, harmonizing heritage architecture with modern wellness-centric design.

Among the hotel’s distinguished features is its expansive 2,300-square-metre spa, one of the largest in London. It houses the city’s first-ever hotel magnesium pool, cryotherapy chambers, flotation pods, and a dedicated longevity clinic. In addition, the property introduces Six Senses Place, the brand’s premier private members’ club, providing a wellness-oriented alternative to conventional London clubs.

Neil Palmer, Chief Operating Officer at Six Senses, expressed, “By infusing the Six Senses core vision of reconnection into cosmopolitan cities like Rome, Kyoto, and now London, we are crafting urban sanctuaries.” This opening trails the brand’s triumphant urban launches in Rome and Kyoto, with additional city properties in the pipeline for Dubai and Milan.
