Radisson RED: A Bold Debut in Auckland Ushering a New Era for Australasia

Marking a significant milestone, Radisson Hotel Group has officially made its grand entrance into the New Zealand market. The opening of Radisson RED Auckland in February 2026 signifies the brand’s landmark arrival in Australasia. Nestled in the heart of Auckland’s Arts District, the 322-room hotel is conveniently located at 33 Lorne Street.

The property boasts a bold, theatrical design, drawing inspiration from Auckland’s vibrant arts and entertainment scene. Corridor lighting mimics stage spotlights, while lounge seating takes cues from opera boxes, creating a unique and engaging atmosphere.

However, the hotel’s standout feature is its soon-to-open rooftop restaurant and bar. Set to be New Zealand’s largest outdoor rooftop space, it offers sweeping views of Auckland’s iconic Sky Tower, Albert Park, and Waitematā Harbour.

“This opening marks a major milestone for our growth in Australasia and a proud moment for our upper-upscale Radisson RED brand, which brings a playful twist to the conventional,” said Tim Cordon, Chief Operating Officer for Middle East, Africa and South East Asia Pacific at Radisson Hotel Group.

Adding to its allure, the hotel is one of Auckland’s few pet-friendly accommodations. It features an all-day dining venue, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and flexible event spaces.

Looking ahead, Radisson has already announced plans for a second RED property in Queenstown, set to open in 2028. Additional locations in Brisbane and Melbourne are also on the horizon, with openings scheduled for mid-2026.
