Google Pixel March 2026 Update: Welcome to the Era of AI-Generated Custom Icons

Google has unveiled its March 2026 Pixel Feature Drop on March 3, 2026, delivering a significant update that introduces AI-generated custom icons and a plethora of AI-powered features to supported Pixel devices.

The flagship feature empowers Pixel 6 and newer models to personalize their home screens with custom AI-generated icons. Users have the liberty to choose from five distinct styles — Scribbles, Cookies, Easel, Treasure, and Stardust — that uniformly redesign all home screen icons. The update also brings a new SpongeBob SquarePants theme pack, complete with wallpapers, ringtones, and custom icons.

Exclusive features have been rolled out for the Pixel 10 series, including Comfort View, a refined display color filtering mode that minimizes visual stimulation from bright or saturated colors for users with sensitive eyes. Furthermore, Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL users can now delegate repetitive tasks like ordering groceries or booking rides directly to Gemini AI, which operates in the background while keeping users in control.

Other noteworthy enhancements include expanded Scam Detection capabilities in France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Germany, and Japan, which employ on-device AI to identify malicious speech patterns during phone calls. Circle to Search has been upgraded with improved image understanding, and the Now Playing feature has been revamped as a standalone app with Material 3 styling.
