Nobu Hospitality Unveils Ultra-Luxury Resort in Maldives with Private Island Villas

Nobu Hospitality made a grand announcement on February 12, 2026. They unveiled their debut project in the Maldives, introducing an ultra-luxury resort concept that aims to redefine exclusivity in the Indian Ocean. The Nobu Hotel, Residences, and Restaurant Maldives is set to be located on the private island of Munyafushi in Laamu Atoll, developed in a strategic partnership with Sarat International.

The resort will feature a total of 56 villas, all designed in Nobu’s signature Japanese-inspired minimalist style. The villas will incorporate natural textures and clean lines to create a serene and luxurious environment. The resort’s offerings will include:

  • 26 one- and two-bedroom beach villas
  • 30 one- and two-bedroom overwater villas

However, the standout feature of the resort is an ultra-exclusive collection of just 10 Nobu Island Estate Residences. Each of these residences will be positioned on its own private island, complete with beachfront access, a private yacht, and boat access to the main resort amenities.

At the heart of the development will be a Nobu restaurant, located on its own private island. The restaurant will serve Chef Nobu’s renowned Japanese-Peruvian fusion cuisine. Additional amenities at the resort will include:

  • A world-class spa
  • Fitness center
  • Diving facilities
  • Tennis courts
  • Event spaces

Trevor Horwell, CEO of Nobu Hospitality, stated that the project aims to “set a new standard of rarity” as part of the new generation of Maldives hotels. The focus is on creating harmony between design, world-class dining, and the natural environment.
