Topping the list is Hilo, located on Hawaii’s Big Island, which has seen the largest year-over-year percentage increase in searches for domestic trips scheduled between March and April 2026.
The volcanic Hawaiian destination of Hilo is drawing in travelers with the allure of witnessing the awe-inspiring lava flows from Kīlauea’s ongoing eruption, and the chance to partake in the renowned Merrie Monarch Festival.
Florida, known for its beachside allure, dominates the remainder of the top 10 list, claiming five spots. These include:
- Sarasota (#3)
- Panama City (#5)
- Punta Gorda (#6)
- Fort Myers (#8)
- Tampa (#9)
Securing the second position is Asheville, North Carolina, drawing interest with its thriving craft brewery scene and the vibrant River Arts District. Long Beach, California (#4) and Santa Ana, California (#7) add to the diverse mix of destinations.
Colorado’s Vail, appealing to spring breakers seeking late-season skiing, rounds off the list at the tenth spot. Google advises booking flights 28 to 61 days before departure for optimal pricing, noting that “we’re in the sweet spot right now for trips in late March or early April.”
