Introducing Lyria 3: Google’s Advanced AI Music Generator Now in Gemini App
Google has recently launched Lyria 3, its latest and most sophisticated AI music generation model. This innovative feature has been directly integrated into the Gemini app, making it accessible to users across the globe. As of February 18, 2026, users who are 18 years and older can utilize this feature to create 30-second music tracks. These tracks can include vocals, lyrics, and even AI-generated cover art, all derived from simple text prompts or uploaded photos.
The Gemini platform, boasting over 750 million monthly active users, has significantly expanded its AI-generated music capabilities with this new feature. Users can simply describe a genre, mood, or personal memory, and Gemini will swiftly produce a fully produced track. This technology is an enhancement of previous Lyria models, now with the added ability to automatically generate lyrics and offer users greater control over style, tempo, and musical complexity.
Google has addressed copyright concerns by designing Lyria 3 specifically for “original expression, not for mimicking existing artists.” All tracks generated by this feature include a SynthID watermark to identify AI-generated content. Moreover, filters are in place to cross-check outputs against existing copyrighted material. The feature currently supports eight languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese. Users subscribed to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra can enjoy higher generation limits.
