Mexico Sets New Tourism Record with 98.2 Million Visitors in 2025

Mexico has officially set a new tourism record, welcoming an astounding 98.2 million international visitors in 2025. This marks a significant 13.6% increase from the previous year. Data released by Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism reveals that this surge generated $34.992 billion in foreign exchange earnings, representing a 6.2% increase from 2024.

The record-breaking numbers underscore Mexico’s escalating allure as a top-tier destination for cultural, culinary, and beach tourism. Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, Secretary of Tourism for the Government of Mexico, emphasized that culinary tourism has emerged as one of the most potent drivers attracting visitors to the country.

“Visitors are not only coming for the beautiful beaches or cultural landmarks but for an unforgettable taste of Mexico,” Rodriguez Zamora stated.

From street tacos sizzling on flat-top grills in bustling cities to fresh seafood on the Pacific coast, Mexico’s food scene has evolved into a global attraction. This complements its rich history, stunning landscapes, and warm climate.

The success is fueling economic growth and job creation across the nation. Industry experts are predicting 2026 to be another standout year for Mexican tourism.
