Skyborne Academy Introduces Accelerated Program for Private Pilots

Skyborne Airline Academy has launched a new “partial pathway” program. This innovative initiative allows existing Private Pilot License (PPL) holders to fast-track their journey to becoming professional airline pilots by bypassing redundant training.

The program, operating under FAA Part 141 regulations, enables students with a PPL to commence training directly at the instrument rating stage. This approach not only saves time but also reduces costs. It addresses a long-standing issue in pilot training where licensed students often had to repeat primary training when enrolling in Part 141 programs.

As stated by William Hulse, group head of sales for Skyborne, the program offers a structured route for students to complete their:

  • Instrument rating
  • Commercial single-engine
  • Commercial multi-engine
  • Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) training

Entry requirements include:

  1. Holding a PPL
  2. FAA first-class medical certificate
  3. High school diploma
  4. Successful completion of Skyborne’s Flightline Orientation Course

The introduction of this program comes at a crucial time as the aviation industry continues to grapple with global pilot shortages. Skyborne aims to streamline the path from private pilot to professional certification, addressing the demand for qualified pilots and making the transition more accessible for aspiring aviators. The program is now available at Skyborne’s Vero Beach, Florida facility.
