Anthropic Secures Record $30B Funding, Skyrocketing Valuation to $380 Billion

Anthropic, a trailblazing AI startup, announced on Thursday that it has successfully closed a monumental $30 billion Series G funding round. This massive influx of capital has catapulted the company’s valuation to an astounding $380 billion, marking this event as the second-largest private tech financing in history.

The funding round was spearheaded by Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC and investment firm Coatue. It also saw participation from a host of major investors including Microsoft, Nvidia, Founders Fund, BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan Chase. This round of funding has more than doubled Anthropic’s previous valuation of $183 billion from September 2025.

Anthropic, the company behind the revolutionary Claude AI assistant, reported that its annualized revenue has reached an impressive $14 billion. This signifies a growth of more than 10x annually over the past three years. Claude Code, Anthropic’s AI coding agent, now generates over $2.5 billion in run-rate revenue, more than doubling since the start of 2026. The startup garners about 80% of its business from enterprises, setting it apart from its consumer-focused rival, OpenAI.

The funding will bolster frontier AI research, product development, and infrastructure expansion as the company fiercely competes with OpenAI. The latter is also reportedly seeking around $100 billion in new funding. This deal underscores the continued massive investor appetite for leading AI companies, despite concerns about runaway spending and market volatility.
