New Air Astana Route Connects Kazakhstan and China
Air Astana, the national airline of Kazakhstan, unveiled a new twice-weekly service between Astana and Guangzhou, China on February 15, 2026. This significant move enhances the connectivity between the two countries. The service will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with flights leaving Astana at 18:45 and reaching Guangzhou at 04:30 the next day.
The airline will utilize its latest generation Airbus A321LR aircraft for these flights, which will have an estimated flight time of around 6 hours and 45 minutes. This development follows Air Astana’s existing four flights per week from Almaty to Guangzhou since March 2025. The airline also provides regular services to Beijing and Urumqi in western China.
The introduction of this new route aims to bolster business, tourism, and cultural relations between Kazakhstan and China. It also broadens travel and transit options via Air Astana’s hubs in both Astana and Almaty. In addition, the airline has disclosed plans to initiate a new service between Almaty and Shanghai by the end of March 2026, further solidifying its foothold in the Central Asia-China travel corridor.
