Luxury Tourism in Taiwan Soars as Michelin Key Awards Boost International Flights

Major international airlines, including Emirates, ANA, Cathay Pacific, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, and British Airways, are significantly expanding their flight services to Taiwan. This expansion follows the prestigious Michelin Key awards given to the island’s luxury hotels, marking a transformative moment for Taiwan’s tourism industry as it emerges as a premier luxury destination in Asia.

Four prestigious hotels in Taiwan—Capella Taipei, Kimpton Da An Taipei, Mandarin Oriental Taipei, and Hoshinoya Guguan—received the coveted Michelin Key distinction, equivalent to Michelin Stars for restaurants. This recognition has sparked a 35% surge in travel demand, prompting airlines to add routes and increase flight frequencies to Taipei.

The Mandarin Oriental Taipei, known for its opulent interiors and first-class service, has been a longtime favorite among luxury travelers. With the new international recognition, Taiwan is positioning itself as a key player in the global luxury travel market. It offers a unique blend of modernity, tradition, and world-class hospitality that attracts affluent travelers from around the world.
