Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold: The Most Expensive Smartphone Launches in the US on January 30
Samsung has officially announced the launch of its highly anticipated Galaxy Z TriFold smartphone in the United States. Set to hit the market on January 30, 2026, the device carries a starting price of $2,899, making it the most expensive smartphone ever released by the company.
The Galaxy Z TriFold boasts a revolutionary triple-panel design with two hinges. When unfolded, it reveals a massive 10-inch AMOLED display—the largest screen ever on a Galaxy phone. Despite its complexity, the device showcases impressive engineering, measuring just 3.9mm at its thinnest point when fully unfolded. When folded, it functions as a standard smartphone with a 6.5-inch cover display.
Under the hood, the US configuration of the Galaxy Z TriFold is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The device also features:
- A triple camera setup, similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra
- A 5,600mAh battery with 45W wired charging
- Samsung’s One UI 8
Samsung promises seven years of OS and security updates for the device.
The TriFold is equipped with reinforced display technology and a titanium hinge. It has also been subjected to a 200,000-cycle folding test—equivalent to folding approximately 100 times a day for five years. The device will be available exclusively in Crafted Black with 512GB storage at Samsung Experience Stores and on Samsung.com.
