Kolmar Korea Makes History with CES 2026 Beauty Tech Innovation Award

South Korean cosmetics manufacturer Kolmar Korea has made history by becoming the first cosmetics company worldwide to win the prestigious Best of Innovation Award in the Beauty Tech category at CES 2026, held in Las Vegas in early January.

The award-winning AI-powered Scar Beauty Device represents a groundbreaking advancement in personalized beauty technology. The innovative device uses artificial intelligence to analyze and classify scars into one of 12 predefined types through a smartphone app. Once the scar is analyzed, the device utilizes piezoelectric micro-dispensing technology—similar to inkjet printing—to precisely apply customized treatment solutions directly onto the scar without heat.

Beyond scar treatment, the device can also spray perfectly color-matched makeup to the user’s skin tone, effectively concealing imperfections while delivering therapeutic benefits. The technology merges medical treatment with cosmetic application in a single, user-friendly device.

Kolmar Korea plans to complete the technology launch in the first half of 2026 and begin full-scale customer acquisition in the second half of the year. The company also received an Innovation Award in the Digital Health category, achieving a double win at this year’s CES.

“This Best of Innovation Award is the result of research focused not just on technology itself, but on human-centered user experience and real-world problem solving,” stated a Kolmar Korea official. The company aims to expand AI, IoT, and big data technologies across cosmetic development and service areas.
