MSC Cruises Unveils Exciting Alaska Debut for 2026 Season

MSC Cruises is set to make a splash with its eagerly awaited debut in the Alaska cruise market in 2026. This marks a significant expansion of the European cruise line’s presence in North America. The MSC Poesia will conduct weekly seven-night roundtrip sailings from Seattle from May through September 2026. The itinerary includes stops at Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Juneau, and Victoria, British Columbia, with the added bonus of scenic cruising of Tracy Arm Fjord.

Prior to launching its Alaska season, the MSC Poesia is undergoing one of the most extensive refurbishments in the cruise line’s history. The enhancements include the addition of the premium MSC Yacht Club with 63 suites, a new Butcher’s Cut Steakhouse, a reimagined Kaito Sushi Bar, an All-Stars Sports Bar, and an upgraded MSC Aurea Spa. With this expansion, Seattle will become MSC Cruises’ fifth U.S. homeport, joining Miami, Port Canaveral, Galveston, and Tampa.

“By introducing sailings to Alaska we’re further extending our global offering and giving our guests the opportunity to experience this must-see region,” said MSC Cruises CEO Gianni Onorato. The ship will offer a variety of shore excursions catering to adventure, culture, and culinary interests. These range from exploring the wilderness, whale-watching, to experiencing the world’s largest zipline at Icy Strait Point.
